Water & Sewer Division

Water Leaks

Water & Sewer Division (Utilities Division) is responsible for the maintenance of all water distribution systems in the City. There are sometimes extenuating circumstances that may cause this division to prioritize leaks by urgency.

(Ex.: A major break of a main line that could cause city residents to be without water for an extended period of time would take precedence over a small leak in the street not affecting the public.)

Sewer & Meter Maintenance

The Utilities Division maintains the sewer lines and meters. Any sewer or meter problems may be directed to the Public Works Office: (601) 684-3497.

Installation of New Water Service/ Water Tap (no existing service)

Residents requesting a water and sewer tap must complete an application for new service at the Public Works Office.  Then finish the process on the 1st floor of City Hall with the utility service representative. Payment for water and sewer tap does not include water deposit.

Rate Study

Below are links to a rate study completed in August 2013 and the rate review policy for McComb City.  The rate study was commissioned by the Board and is the basis for the rate increases effective since November 2013.  The study shows projections for five years through 2017 for the utility fund.  Of the three options proposed for rate increases, the Board chose option 1 which consists of smaller rate increases each year.  The study also recommended a one time capital improvement fee increase.
